None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be "grandfathered," meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don't meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date — the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example — the policy would not be grandfathered.

Buried in Obamacare regulations from July 2010 is an estimate that because of normal turnover in the individual insurance market, "40 to 67 percent" of customers will not be able to keep their policy. And because many policies will have been changed since the key date, "the percentage of individual market policies losing grandfather status in a given year exceeds the 40 to 67 percent range."

That means the administration knew that more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them.

Yet President Obama, who had promised in 2009, "if you like your health plan, you will be able to keep your health plan," was still saying in 2012, "If (you) already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance."

"This says that when they made the promise, they knew half the people in this market outright couldn't keep what they had and then they wrote the rules so that others couldn't make it either," said Robert Laszewski, of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, a consultant who works for health industry firms.

Premiums for employer-provided family coverage rose $3,065 — 24% — from 2008 to 2012, the Kaiser survey found. Even if you start counting in 2009, premiums have climbed $2,370.

What's more, premiums climbed faster in Obama's four years than they did in the previous four under President Bush, the survey data show.

There's no question about what Obama was promising the country, since he repeated it constantly during his 2008 campaign.

In a debate with Sen. John McCain, for example, Obama said "the only thing we're going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you. And we estimate we can cut the average family's premium by about $2,500 per year."

At a campaign stop in Columbus, Ohio, in February 2008, Obama promised that "We are going to work with you to lower your premiums by $2,500. We will not wait 20 years from now to do it, or 10 years from now to do it. We will do it by the end of my first term as president."

"I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

That's quite the promise and one that's even more difficult to keep when you throw a new $1 trillion dollar health care entitlement into the mix. Americans for Tax Reform posted today a list of taxes that will put the American middle class into the [tax-increase] crosshairs.

First, there's the Obamacare individual mandate tax, which target six million families directly. There's also the Flexible Spending Account Tax, which puts "30 - 35 million Americans who use a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA) at work to pay for their family's basic medical needs face a new Obamacare cap of $2,500. This will squeeze $13 billion of tax money from Americans over the next ten years." And there are more items to this butcher's bill.

One could also argue that these premium increases are nothing more than tax increases to pay for ObamaCare. So that is another broken promise.

Finally, how many of the millions losing the health care plan they like will lose their doctor in the process? [Answer: very likely.] That is yet another broken promise.

Thus, under FSA2AA — nicknamed "UninfringedArms" — you either go to Firearms.gov or call 1-800-E1ATMOI and buy a government-approved bronze, silver, gold, or platinum plated gun through your state's firearms exchange. The bronze plated one is the cheapest. But it has a high, 5,500 rounds deductible. The platinum plated gun has a smaller ammunition deductible. But it's the most expensive.

If you cannot prove to the IRS that you had a firearm for at least 10 months in any given calendar year, yes you can and will be taxed. However, if your income is below four times the federal poverty level, you'll receive a means-tested subsidy when you buy a firearm.

On the off chance you still have a job in this alleged recovery, your employer must supply you with an adequate gun or else pay a hefty fine/tax/whatever. When you visit a gun shop (or gun show) for your firearms needs, the law requires the owner (or organizer) to follow certain guidelines, such as not providing you a scope if the government thinks feels you're not worthy enough to receive it. (Gotta bend that cost curve down, you know.)

It was a shame, really, because the heroic deeds he performed years ago in service to his country will be overshadowed, forevermore, by his unforgivable treachery.

Patriot soldiers, meanwhile, took positions atop a hill overlooking the enemy-occupied Capitol. Even so, they proposed compromise after reasonable compromise in attempts to end the showdown peacefully. However, each time they did the Reid Coats absolutely refused to negotiate with their leaders, calling them "anarchists," "hostage takers," "arsonists," "terrorists," and other outrageously improper names. As the enemy had hoped, Johnedict McCainold and his summer soldiers and sunshine patriots, easily overpowered by deathly fear of the latest public opinion poll, were cowered by those false labels and, losing heart, deserted; which left the defenders of American liberty even more outnumbered. Yet those who remained carried on the fight undaunted, each of their hearts quickened by overpowering love of freedom.

Wave upon wave of Reid Coats marched up the hill. But their extremely rigid company fronts made them exceptionally vulnerable to the true aim and withering fire of the Patriot soldiers. Also, the more casualties they suffered the more vindictive they became. Except they could not take out their frustrations on the defenders of Liberty facing them. The Reid Coats had to instead exact their revenge on a civilian population they were already treating as expendable pawns, trapped behind their lines and always at their nonexistent mercy. There, after tossing aside every convention of civilized warfare, they committed the cruelest atrocities.

Among the untold number of innocents the Reid Coats had singled out and subjected to the most viscous assaults were the grieving families of fallen Soldiers, elderly Veterans confined to wheelchairs, and even children stricken with cancer. The populous was horrified and became rightly enraged. Not a few of the less heartless Reid Coats were themselves disgusted by the barbarism of their superiors' clearly unjust orders. Now the Reid Coats were facing disapproval and opposition from both the front and the rear. But by that time they had frightened or enticed enough spineless lowlifes into defecting to their side — including one very high-ranking treasonous coward they outright bought off — that they could finally launch a successful attack against the freedom fighters' hilltop position. So, with their newfound loyalists in tow, the Reid Coats marched.

A few hours later it was all over. The Reid Coats had seized the top of the blood drenched hill. They declared victory and returned to occupy the Capitol. While Patriot soldiers were regrouping, the Reid Coats increasingly brutalized the recalcitrant citizenry.

Although America was in store for further suffering at the beastly hands of the spiteful Ried Coats, in the end the Patriots would have their Dorchester Heights and, yes, their Yorktown.

Even up against the twin evils of tyranny and injustice, an America of, by, and for all Americans, by the grace of God, always overcomes and prevails.

So support for the Syrian jihad remains unaffected by the shutdown, just like the Capitol Hill gym and Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" website. Obama did manage, however, to cut off death benefits for the families of American troops killed fighting for our country. Or at least our conniving Alinsky-in-chief thought he'd succeeded in cutting off the military death benefits — along with forcible closures of war-hero cemeteries, national monuments, private homes, and the ocean.

It turned out he'd miscalculated.

President I Will Not Negotiate ended up negotiating, and then quietly paying bereaved military families, because he discovered, to his astonishment, that the public would hold him, not Republicans, responsible for this unspeakable breach of faith. He'd thought he had that covered. After all, as the Republican establishment repeatedly tells us, Obama's media always blame the GOP — thus making it "delusional" for the GOP to stand up and fight about anything.

The president was caught by the strategy devised by the delusional rubes who want to exercise Congress's prerogative not to fund Obamacare — a purportedly unattainable goal, notwithstanding that the prerogative is rooted in the Constitution, in marked contrast to Obama's own selective waivers of Obamacare, which are apparently rooted in . . . Obama.

If his unaffordable 4Ø4"Care" is such a Teh Law Of Teh Land!, why did Øbratchild insist on unilaterally changing it and Demøurbetters in Congress insist their health plans be above it? Because it's an all-you-can't-eat Demøcolossal stinkbuffet, that's why.

The so-called shutdown has handed opposing candidates an unprecedented opportunity to refer to an already sizable, yet still growing record of Demøcruel hypocrisy:

"How could you, Senator, vote in favor of defunding cancer research that could save the lives of our stricken children? Because the American people's representatives rightly refused to meet your extremely unreasonable demand that they pay your highly unaffordable Obama'Care' ransom first? Senator, have you no heart?

"Again I ask, how could you, Senator, be so petty and vindictive as to tell their distraught parents, 'Let my incompetent president and his corrupt IRS run your health care or let your children die'? Senator, have you no shame?"

So you see, prematurely ending this alleged shutdown with a "clean" continuing resolution now only gets Demøthugs off the hook. They must face the consequences of these disgustingly spiteful and mean-spirited games they keep playing with all our lives and our livelihoods. Forcing them to do so would be most just and fair. Then we'll see the American people winning for a change.

Otherwise they'll easily get away with saying that they've got everything they want. There's nothing to negotiate, Republicans.

Even the lib media agrees that O's Healthcare.gov is one of the biggest screw-ups in tech history. And this from digitaltrends.com: "The exact cost to build Healthcare.gov, according to U.S. government records, appears to have been $634,320,919, which we paid to a company you probably never heard of: CGI Federal. The company originally won the contract back in 2011, but at that time, the cost was expected to run 'up to' $93.7 million." So it's already cost taxpayers almost 7 times more than estimated. But this $634M is just the start with many techies saying this pile of manure needs to be rebuilt from scratch. One made the great analogy that fixing it at this point is like trying to work on your car engine while you're still driving. All to give many the "privilege" of buying insurance they don't want, at increased rates they can't afford, with the chance of being victimized by identity theft. he Øfascist Environmental Protection Agency's first instinct was to order every American's mouth and nose "temporarily stitched shut." Plan B — showing the officers YouTube videos that demonstrate the procedure so yes they can do it themselves — was rejected as well after EPA lawyers discovered that practicing medicine without a licence is, unfortunately, still illegal in most states.

Then the Deputy Associate Vice-Assistant Administrator for the Clean Air Regulatory Enforcement Division's Swamp Gas Inspections Sub-Bureau, Dorriss Litch-Boser, submitted an extremely ingenious proposal: "Hire contractors to build and deploy super-supersized giant vacuum cleaners, or 'SSGVCs,' around the country to barricade and contain America's unregulatable air." Naturally, the EPA administrator approved her proposal. A minority-owned business in Bethesda, Maryland, "VacuumZ Repair-n-Delivery," was contracted to build 17,000 SSGVCs and deliver them by November 1, to EPA's swarm of field offices across the United States. Each SSGVC would be capable of sucking about six billion tons of air out of the sky.

Responding to public concerns about EPA's plan, pResident fuBarack Øbombast said Republican members of Congress left him no other choice. "They're holding the very air you breathe hostage! See the part that says, "Appropriations committees... put together appropriations bills"? It says "bills," meaning more than one piece of legislation. That's the definition of "piecemeal," you sneering, arrogant brain-dead pussbucket. "One piece at a time."

he House of Representatives is giving Harry Reid Hank the Ripper everything he wants on Veterans programs, national parks, D.C. funding, and all the other things we don't want him to shut down. But he'd rather hold our entire government hostage than accept any sort of compromise.

Funny, after I screamed that at the stroke of midnight, expecting every government function everywhere to come to a screeching, cosmically terrifying halt, I didn't feel anything besides a not too particularly sore throat. As the minutes passed, even this slight annoyance diminished.

Panicked, I went back to my browser and entered WhiteHouse.gov in the address bar. Would the "Page Not Found" message I dreaded seeing confirm my sudden premonition of Utter Doom™? Nope. It's still there. However, before my unease had completely abated, the page finished loading and I was greeted with this equally trite pronouncement:

"Because Congress did not fulfill its responsibility to pass a budget, much of the federal government will shut down."

Ohhnooooes!...

....

When I finally uncurled from the fetal position I took after diving under my desk à la Bernie Shaw in Baghdad, I looked tentatively out to see what if anything still existed beyond its comfortingly solid confines.

In between heart-wrenching sobs of inconsolable despair I could see, inexplicably, the chair from which I bolted was there. The floor on which it stood was, too. The air in the room remained and continued to fill my lungs without any discomfort. As I arose, it dawned on me that electrical power was somehow surging into the room. The curly, mercury-filled bulbs overhead put off their usual, eye-strainingly white glare. My computer's monitor flickered blithefully, displaying the same warning of unprecedented terror.

Wait! Perhaps it's a trick, concocted by evil teabagger hackers. Has the photo gallery of our dEar Leader playing his latest round of golf been cruelly obliterated by the Shutdown!? Alas, it hasn't. How about the creatively edited biographies of former U.S. presidents? No, they're informing us Ronald Reagan's "Tear Down This Wall" speech ranks little more than wishy-washy babble alongside the Grand Apology^® that so mesmerized a pre-Muslim Brotherhoodlumed Cairo. None of the site's other pages have suffered any Shutdown!, either. They must be among those Essential Government Services necessarily excluded from lesser entities' unappropriated fate.

Well, maybe the IRS has been deprived all those funds it needs to single out evil teabagging groups for special "evaluations." No such luck, 'baggers! You're on the EOØ list, Shutdown! or no.

All right. We're told the Shutdown! won't affect our Troops' pay. We'll get our mail tomorrow. Bernanke's Fed isn't going to stop printing a surfeit of ever-devaluing dollars. So what's left? You'd think, given the way our Fearmonger-in-Chief has portrayed the Shutdown!, we'd at least be able to notice that The End Is Here.
