The ones who got everything wrong last night are the real losers. The people, not any politicians, are the true winners.ll last week the PPPs tried to tell us what to do, and we rebelled against our would-be masters. We finally had enough of these always-wrong pompous mooncalves on television, the radio, and the Web posing as our betters, looking down their upturned noses on and outright dismissing our supported candidates and, by extension, us.
The PPPs first tried to sweet-talk us, complementing us on our backwardness and stupidity. After it became obvious that that wasn't working, they turned nasty. How dare we even imagine they could ever be — once again — so completely wrong! Wrong about the elections, about us, about the wider world itself.
They forgot the primary reason we watch, listen to, and read them — that, for what shouldn't be any sort of indiscernible motives, we expect them to fairly inform and persuade us, not unfairly put us down and infuriate us.
The PPPs didn't expect, despite how smart they keep pretending they are, that trying to push on us against our own good sense another fake, phony, flip-flopping politician, solely because he isn't the one we were seriously deciding to support, would cause anything except us to push back.
But even the PPPs should expect now that nothing about these elections by the people is carved in stone, no matter how often and how hard they chisel away at it with their ever disconsonant and self-serving assertions and prognostications.
Then again, we shouldn't have reason anymore to expect they ever will.
